Hi Shane -
The most common cause of this is that one or more of the toolbars (including
the Formula Bar) are not fully docked at the bottom edge of the Menu Bar &
abutted to one another. Try dragging them all away from the Menu, then drag
them back - one at a time - making sure they "snap" into position as you do.

early this week I have found a small bug in Mac Excel 2004 concerning
this. I will try to explain. If you customize your toolbars so that
the Formula bar makes the first toolbar row and put another toolbar
just bellow it then when you click into cell which contains a lot of
text so the formula box has to extent, the content is hidden
underneath the second toolbar row rather than being display over the
second toolbar. This cannot happen on PC where you cannot move teh
formula bar more on the top of display - it's still the most bottom
one.
