Excel Find problems

I have been using the find (ctrl-f) to search for question marks and tildes
in my spreadsheets for years. In the last week neither of these finds have
been working in excel 2007. a find for a ? results in every occupied cell
being found no matter what the value is. A find next for ~ results in
nothing being found, but a find all points to cell the last cell in the
workbook being found.

Has anyone else seen this behavior recently?
