Excel find replace not active

I have an excel file that has only some sheets, with some cells protected.
I don't have the password.

On the sheets protected, the option / Edit / Replace, is not active.
In the cells not protected, I can write, copy and past any thing I want.
I have long formulas that must be partially changed, and the "Replace" is needed to avoid to change every thing by hand...

Is there any chance to activate the replace for the cells not protected?

Thank you,
Regards,
Pedro

Nope, Replace cannot be used as long as the sheet is protected... But try
copying the sheet [or at least the used portion] & pasting to a different
sheet. The protection most likely won't carry over to the new sheet.

Hi CyberTaz,

Thank you for your answer, but it didn't worked...
I've tried save to new file, new sheet, changing names... no result.
I only have to try doing it in Windows.

Any way, I think only and best solution will be to ask to the person who made the file to solve this problem.

What's curious and not normal, is to have cells in witch I can write, make copy and past. And de "Replace" being not available, when we can make this "replace" manually... (a little 'bug' on the SW...)

Not to be argumentative, but it "didn't worked..." [sic] because none of
what you did is what I suggested you do. In order to recreate the sheet
without protection you *must* use Copy/Paste. That's the only method that
will work. All of what you listed -- Save As, Move or Copy Sheet, changing
names -- retain the protection... And "Windows" has nothing to do with it.

Hi CyberTaz (Bob Jones)

Thank you again for your help.
I did really not read all you mentioned... Sorry.

Now it worked perfect.
I created a new sheet next to one of the protected, and then , made copy/paste, and the protection is no more there. I can now make all changes.

Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards,
Pedro
