Excel Format Palette

As you know, Excel has this cool palette such that when you enter a function, the function key on the palette reveals the syntax of the argument and you can work there or in the actual cell. Very cool.

But, does the Widnows version have anything that is similar? Or, is it just the dialog box that opens and you can sort of do the same?

I have to work on both machines and any help is greatly appreicated. Neil

Hi,

On the PC some of the features are version dependent:
1. As you type the arguments are displayed (all versions)
2. Formula AutoComplete - as you type all the functions (range names, and
tables) are listed which meet what you have typed (2007 only)
3. When you reach this point =SUM( you can click the fx Formula Bar button
or press Ctrl+A to display a dialog box inwhich to build the formula.

To summarize what Shane said:

Mac: Kewl formatting palette and formula builder.
Windows: Old fashioned dialog box.
