Copying Styles between Workbooks
You can copy your styles to different workbooks ??
It is possible to copy styles between workbooks.
Open both the workbooks and activate the destination workbook. Select (Format > Styles) and select the Merge button.
This dialog box will display a list of all open workbooks. Select the name of the workbook you want to copy the styles from and press OK.
Be aware that any styles with the same name will be overwritten. You will only receive a single prompt regardless of how many styles may be overwritten

In the problem workbook how are you inserting the new sheet
Macro or ?
When you create a new blank workbook and go to Insert>Worksheet does tha
new sheet have the strange formatting
If so then I would suggest you have a SHEET.xlt Template in your XLSTAR
folder
Delete it when you find it

Excel Format Problem - Date Overrides Format
Hi
Hope someone can help! Everytime I open this file, certain columns forma
is overwritten with the date
I change the format back to text or general or number or accounting o
custom. And the next time I open the file, it goes back to Date. Eve
protected worksheets have the numbers over written with the date. Any ne
workbook has all the cells formatted as date
How can I get rid of this date override and get excel to A) keep the format
I set and B) default blank worksheets to number format
Thanks
Mary

Only one workbook and only certain columns in only one worksheet in tha
book
Do you have any code running that would change the formatting
Or all new workbooks and sheets
Default new workbooks and worksheets should already be default set t
General format for all cells
Your default new workbook and worksheet may have been altered
See any Book.xlt or Sheet.xlt in XLSTART folder

Yes, multiple workbooks. Only certain columns but across several sheets i
that book
There is existing code, but I do not know what to look for, what would chang
the date? And it seems that the more columns changed to "general" the mor
columns switch back to "date"
New workbooks are in the general format
