Excel Formats

I have upgraded to Excel 2007 from 2003. A file that had general format for
cells as a default has now changedto date format. This has had a major impact
on a very large file.
Does anyone know how to reset the default in an existing file?

Strongly urge you send Excel questions to an Excel newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.excel
