Excel Formatting Problems

C

Coz

I opened a spreadsheet that I have formatted to use general numbers and
percentage. For some reason, the general number cells have a decimal in
it. I format the cells for general and they put a decimal point in it.
This is frustrating because all I want to show is whole numbers. Please
help, it's driving me crazy!!!!!!

Look on the edit tab in preferences and make sure fixed decimal places is
unchecked.

If the format is Number = General and you enter 6.7, then 6.7 will be
displayed (with the decimal). I'm a little uncertain what your goal is
but one option is to choose format Number = Number with zero decimal
places. Then, the DISPLAY of 6.7 will be rounded to show as 7 (with no
decimal) BUT the number will still be stored as 6.7 for calculations.
