Excel formulas

Help!!! in the past, Excel has always automatically
updated formulas when the values in their cell references
changed. as i am working on excel tonight, i realized
that my formulas no longer automatically update! i have
to go into the formula and hit "enter" again before the
formula will update with the new values. how can i fix
this?? please help!

Probably calculation mode is "Manual"
(and due to the first file.xls opened
in the Excel session which had this "Manual" setting.
The 1st file opened dictates the setting for the session)

Click Tools > Options > Calculation tab
Check "Automatic" > OK
