Excel Freezes

Hi for some unknow reason, excel has started to freeze when I am
running a calculation

This has never happened before and it is strange that it is happening
for no apparent reason. The CP stops, the mouse freezes the screen
freezes and there is no response.

I have to manually reboot.

Has anyone come across this before or can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks in advance

Explain what you mean by "running a calculation" so we have a clue as
to how to answer you!

By running a calculation all i mean is I have highlighted 13 columns
which all have calculated cells and hit shift F9 to carry out the
calculation on the cells (total of approximately 4000 calculated cells
in total to be updated)

The calculation commences and then after a few minutes the whole
computer just locks up and has to be re-started. I have done the same
calculation for years and this has never happened so it is odd that it
started today and I cant find an explanation.

I hope that explains better and thanks for your interest..

Please don't 'top post'! Put your replies *below* so others reading the
thread can better follow the 'flow' of things.

I can't seem to duplicate your problem in a test scenario (using 50,000
cells). Can you post a download link to your file so we can see what's
going on?
