Excel from Office Professional Ed 2003

I installed my new Office Professional and input the
Product Key as requested. Because I had an earlier
version it treated the install as an upgrade. The key
number was accepted and I also was sent to a site to
activate. I received confirmation it was activated.
However, I can use Access and Publisher, but when I try
to use Excel, Word or Powerpoint I get the boxes to fill
in my user name, etc. which I did again, however, now it
says my product entry key is incorrect. I have typed it
correctly, so now I don't know what to do. I can't get
to the ID number at the Help tab because I can't access
the help tab. Which means I can't ask Microsoft for help
at their support site. What is going on? I have spent a
long time on this now and can't access my existing
documents.

I replied to Charlie, but for others with this problem,
his solution worked perfectly. A Standard Office version
had been preinstalled on our new laptop, which I didn't
realize. It interfered with my attempt at installing a
newer version. The support article that he recommends
solved the problem...a big thank you.
