Excel frustration

I made a 7 column spreadsheet of our DVD/VHS collection. For whatever reason
(I assume MY fault here) the LAST COLUMN (date column) keeps getting mixed up
and no longer matches it's original row, sometimes requiring a retype of
whole portions of it. The odd thing though is that it is usually just a small
portion of the column somewhere in the middle - it is not like an offending
row has uniformly moved things up or down. Is there a way to LOCK the rows so
that NO MATTER how I sort the columns the rows WILL ALWAYS stay wholly
intact? There is no reason in the world I would ever want to separate the row
information REGARDLESS of how I want to sort the columns OR ADD rows of NEW
INFORMATION (TITLE/DVD/VHS/CATEGORY/ACTOR-ACTRESS/DIRECTOR/YEAR).

ie by selecting them all and then doing your sort. If your data is in rows
1 to 150 and across columns A:Z, then make sure you select A1:Z150 before
you sort.
