Excel hangs on Save

Hi I have an ongoing problem with Excel 2004. It doesn't happen when
creating a new file, but on a thired of fourth save. You see the
scrollbar at the bottom of the screen reach near the end but the
,machine just stops. It completly freezes my Mac to the extent that I
have to pull the plug as I can't exven force quit Excel.

I have tried reinstallng the whole of Office 2004 and it still happens.


Any thoughts any one? The spreadsheets are very basic with just text
and a few calculations, there is no data collection from other sources.

Hello,

Here are a couple of things to think about to narrow down the problem:
1. what other apps are running when this happens?
2. if it happens with the same file, but not others, what happens when it is
saved using another machine?
3. what are you doing between the third and fourth save that may be causing
this to occur?
4. how large is the file? If it is big, see what happens with a smaller
sized file with the same type of contents.

problem.
