Excel hangs when going to print

I'm using Excel 2000 with Office SP3 on a Windows 2000 SP4
machine. When I select file, print Excel stops
responding. I wait 2-3 minutes and it comes back but the
printing operation is slow. 4-5 minutes no matter how
small the spreadsheet. Any ideas would be appreciated.
