Excel hyperlink wont work

I am currently using excel X on my g5 and i am unable to use a
hyperlink to another document on my hard drive. I am able to use a
hyperlink to an email address or website but when i try to use another
excel document it freezes my computer. Is anyone aware of what the
problem might be or can give me an example of how they go about it.

Hi John ,
I don't know what method you are using to create a link .
this method works for me
1. Insert | Hyperlink
2. select document tab on the dialog | click "select " button and browse to
the file you want to link to
3. Click OK

selecting some text and control + Click opens up a contextual menu which
can also be used to get to the same dialog .

Thanks for your reply, that is the same method i am using. There must
be a bug in my machine somewhere, it just won't work and locks up my
machine everytime. It will create the hyperlink but if i try to test
the link it locks up and i have to force quit.
