Excel in Mac office v. 10

I am using an Excel spread sheet. The spreadsheet has suddenly begun
creating hyper-links in a column where I record emails.
1st how do I prevent the program from automatically creating these
Hyper-links? These links are not always associated with the emails I
have entered.
2nd can I do a global delete to remove all these Hyper-links with out
doing them one at a time?

Like it or not, the automatic hyperlink feature is by design. Find some
workarounds here:
