Excel Installer Running ....

I have XP MCE, Word XP, and Excel 2000. When I start Excel, the windows
installer pops up. How do I fix that?

Thank you.

Thank you, Peter. Looks like the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is just
what I want! Unfortunately, the page you linked to does not tell where to
download that item. I did a search for (download "windows installer cleanup
utility"), but the result was ZERO.

Would you happen to know where I could download this program?

OK. I did that. Now Excel won't work at all. Says I have to reinstall it.
I guess I have to reinstall all the updates, too.

Kind of not a very elegant fix, eh?

Good lord. Why can't I just edit a registry key to make the installer quit
running?
