Excel is displaying a file locked for editing message

Getting the "File Locked for Editing" message on a file that I know isn't
open anywhere. It's on my computer, not shared, and Excel was closed,
computer turned off.

(1) Can I reset the file lock flag on this file?
(2) Is it possible that something I did in a macro locked this file?

hi
what version of xl are you using. if you don't know, in a
blank cell, enter the formual =info("release"). that will
give you your version....a number like 8, 9, 10
