I am working with Excel 2003 SP3.
I have created an excel workbook and have embedded a Word document into the
workbook. The word document has links to the excel workbook.
When I double click the word document icon I get a message about updating
links... I click yes and everything is fine.
I sent the workbook to a collegue in another country. He is working with
Excel 2003 SP2. He made changes to the workbook (cells that are linked to
the word document). When he double clicks on the word document icon he
sometimes gets a "protected" message. There is no protection. Other times
he does not get this message, but none of the links update for him.
What could the problem be? Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
I have had multiple people in my office test the workbook (they are all on
SP3 like me) and no one here can recreate the problem.
Thanks!
