Excel Link stopped working.

No change to excel file. No change to visio file.

Visio file worked fine last time I accessed it.

The file won't open because Visio says "Visio is unable to open the source
of the object."
I check the path and the spreadsheet is still there.
I can open the spreadsheet in excel using the same path with no issues.
Go back to Visio and Visio won't open the file via the link.
I have already tried 'change source' and basically selected the exact same
file and path...since it worked the last time I accessed the file.

So what's changed? Anyone have a fix?
