I am trying to link to an Excel table, there are 8 fields. All fields have
numbers but, I need the first field to be formatted as text and I will use it
to link with oanother table in a query , the problems is that I have
formatted the field as text in excel and it works fine in one PC with Access
2007 but when I try to the information in an older PC the field shows as
number and I cannot use it. The database is saved as Access 2003. How do I
force this field to stay formatted as text?

Thanks

Quinto

Quinto,
I haven't done this in a while, but if I recall, the wizard allows you to
select the individual fields and choose a format.
