Excel Locked spreadsheets

I have a set of shared spreadsheets accessed via a front page that works
fine., normally. I am receiving a message one one particular spreadsheet when
I try to save or close it saying the file is locked. I have checked all users
and noone has the files open. I cannot update it or close the file. HELP
