Excel Mac 2008 - no gradient fill for cells

was looking forward to excel 08 to make the full switch onto the mac platform. in excel 07 (win) i created some invoice-sheets that use a light gradient fill of cells to seperate contents - that looks nice and is useful.

unfortunately, excel mac 08 doesn't support gradient fills anymore? i thought the primary intention of office 08 was to be fully office 07 compatible? now, if i open my invoices on excel 08, all the cells that use a gradient as a background are black. so the background is black. that is not good at all.

will there be an update for gradient-bg-fills for excel 08?

When I try it works OK. Maybe I¹m doing something different in creating a
gradient fill. What steps did you take exactly?

.... maybe there is a misunderstanding. i'm not drawing a rectangle or so that i want to be filled with a gradient - i just want a cell (!) to have a gradient background. that works in 07 but there is no option for that in 08 - at least i can't find it ... if there is a way to have gradient fill for a cell - please tell me how to do that!

Sorry, but gradient fill for cells is not available with excel 2008. Go to
help/Send Feedback to express your concern to Microsoft.
