excel MAC save as "tab delimited text" error

This relates to created "batch capture" text documents
that are imported into Final Cut Pro 4 on the MAC.

When trying to save an excel worksheet as tab delimited
text i get an error message. I can't provide the exact
message at the moment but it says something about
features of the document are not supported when saving as
tab delimited text, do you want to continue?

Then when I import the TDT document into Final Cut Pro I
get an error message.

Any suggestions?
