Excel Mac to pc and back.

I have networked from my Mac to my PC with a 75 ft cat5 cable. The
Internet reception on the PC is very strong and fast,100Mbps. I can't,
however, figure out how to exchange Excel files, and other files,
between the two computers. I have Word Offfic on both computers and
have enabeled all the file sharing I can find. It still doesn't work.
Any sugestions ?.

Are they directly connected or do you have a router between
them? If they're directly connected with an ethernet cable,
you'll need that to be a crossover cable unless you have a
relatively new Mac laptop. Otherwise without the crossover cable
you're effectively connecting input to input and output to
output on both machines when you really want to connect input to
output so they can talk to each other.

After you know that you've solved the crossover bit, if they
still don't want to talk to each other, you could try enabling
web sharing on one and put the files on the web server. Or use
sneakernet and write to some kind of removable media that you
carry between them. Or email the files between the machines.

Thanks.
They are connected through a router using cat 5 cable. They are talking
to each other because I get Internet on the PC from the Mac. There is
no file sharing. Using e-mail or CD seems to deny the purpose of
networking.

Turn off firewall's and make sure workgroup is identical on both PC and Mac.
If it still don't work, this page looks like a detailed how-to-do-it,

Good luck,
