Excel Macro Language

Is it true that Excel 2004: Mac supports macros written in the old
macro language (XLM), but not the writing of new macros in that
language? No workarounds short of writing in VBA?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi Alann,

It is not true. Excel 2004 does support XML macros.

Control-click on any sheet tab. From the pop-up menu choose Insert. Then
choose Excel 4.0 macro.

Excel 2004 also supports VBA as well as AppleScript.

Fantastic. Thank you for the reply, Jim. This has to be one of the
best-kept secrets in Excel 2004:Mac. I knew old 4.0 macros run, and you
could tweak macro sheets already in existence, but I could not find
info anywhere about creating new 4.0 macros. Saved me a TON of work.
Thanks again.

Happy Fourth!
