Excel Macro Record Buttons

In the past when I recorded Excel macros a small tool bar with buttons to
"Stop Recording" and "Relative Reference" would appear. This no longer
happens. I am using version 2002. Can anybody tell me how to get them back?

Hi,
You are in the Mac section so I just guess. Navigate to
TOOLS>CUSTOMIZE>check STOP RECORDING. Is that what you want?

OOPS, didn't realize I was in the MAC section. Anyway, I found that by right
clicking on a blank area of the menu bar, then clicking "Customize",
"Toolbars". Then checking "Stop Recording" and closing the window, the small
toolbar appeared. After I saw that I repeated the procedure and unchecked
"Stop Recording". Now when I click "Tools", Macro", and "Record New Macro",
I get the small toolbar.

To reset your toolbars settings
The toolbar setting is stored at file Excel#.xlb {where # stands for
some number}. The file is located in Document and setting >user
name>application data>micorsoft>excel.
1. Close excel,
2.remame the file such as test_Excel#.xlb
3. relaunch Excel and see if this helped. Because Excel will not
recognize the test_Excel#.xlb it will create another Excel#.xlb. This
will reset all your toolbars.
4. if this helped to you than you can delete the test_Excel#.xlb. If
not, or you wants your settings back then delete the Excel's newly
created one and change the test_Excel#.xlb to the original name
