EXCEL-Macro (Windows) does not run on a Mac-Computer

hi :)
I have an EXCEL file with Macros which normally is running on a Windows
computer (EXCEL 2000) . My partner likes to use it on a MAC Computer, but he
can't getting EXCEL-Macros starting on his MAC.
He can open the .xls-file on the MAC, and he is asked if he allows to start
makros. But nothing appears clicking a command button on the sheet . Macros
seem not be enabled. A test file showed even a simple makro (only opening a
message box after clicking a command button) does not run.
What can he do to get macros running?
Thanks
Heinrich.

Hi

It sounds like the creator of the macro decided to make the macro work for
the Windows platform only. This is mostly likely caused by the macro creator
using Windows Active-X controls. In order to work everywhere macro creators
should stick with the standard controls and avoid Windows-only features.

hi Gordon,
Thanks. but as i described, even simple macros will not run, i.e. to start a
macro from a conrol button wich only creates a message box.
it seems to be a simple basic adjustment, to tell the aplle computer to
execute the macros.
someone any ideas??

If the control button was made via the Controls toolbar, it's an
ActiveX control and will not work on a Mac.

If the button is from the Forms toolbar, check to see that the macro
is assigned correctly (CTRL-click on the button and choose
Assign...).
