I am looking for an article that supports the fact that
office 97 excel macros do not work in office xp excel for
a co-working can anyone point to an article

UPDATE - The macros that are being used were origionally

used in Lotus - converted to Excel 97 - and do not
function in XP - should they work or is this a loosing
battle?

You won't find an article that supports this stance.

Many bazillions of macros built in Excel 97 work in XL 2002(XP)

You lose the bet. Pay the co-worker.

Is there a specific macro that is giving a problem?

Are you talking about Lotus macros? If so, support for Lotus
macros was dropped in Excel 2002.
