Recently I've been getting this message when attempting to open an Excel
workbook:
"Excel cannot complete this task with available resources".
I run Excel 2003 SP2 on WINXP pro on a Dell 2.79 GHz desktop with 2.0 GB of
RAM. I worked with a Microsoft tech today who claims Excel is limited to 1.0
GB of RAM per instance. I run into this problem when Excel is using only
about 2 MB of RAM. The workaround is to open up separate instances of Excel,
but this is a pain. I'm using the same spreadsheets I've used for years and
have never encountered this problem before. I have checked my RAM and it's
functioning properly. The Microsoft tech is going to research this further
and get back to me.
Any ideas?
