Excel memory reference error

When trying to open a large Excel file that has lookups to other open files
and ODBC auto queries, I get the following error message:

"The instruction at '0x198a6506' referenced memory at 'ox0000002c'. The
memory could not be 'read'."

Please help me fix this. I am using Excel 2000 on a Windows 2000 O/S.
