Excel merge to Word

L

Leah

I am wondering if anyone has come across this problem. I
am merging dollar amounts from excel into to word. The
problem is that the amounts are formatted (i.e., 24
becomes $24.00 through the formatting option in excel)
but it will not transfer to word i.e., it comes over as
24.

Is there a way to have the formatting cross over between
programs?

Thank you in Advance.

The use of a mask as suggested by Doug is the simplest option, but Word 2002
has changed the default method of connection to Excel and the new method
expects Word to provide the formatting. You can still use the earlier
method. See the Excel data section at -
