Excel Mirror file

R

Reagan

I am hoping someone can help me. I am using Excel 2002.
The problem is that when I open one of my Excel files,
Excel is creating a "mirror" of the file which I can
access from the "Window" tab on my toolbar. The files are
listed as:
1 Myfile:1
2 Myfile:2

Any changes I make to file "1" are saved to the mirror
file and vice versa. How do I eliminate this second
version?

Thanks...

Hi:

You have two windows open on the same file.

Close one of the windows using the X in the upper right-hand corner (not the
outer X, which will close the entire Excel application, but the inner X,
which will close the window. Then save the file.

Regards,

Vasant.

Reagan,

It isn't another file. It's the same file in two windows. Close one (click
the lower x). Save the file.

While in the file, someone has created a new window (Window > New Window)
and saved it. Close the one that has name:2 on the name bar and save the
one remaining.

Earl, Vasant, & Laura,
You are all great! Thank you for your help, and I hope
that my blatant incompetence has, in some small way, made
your day(s) a little bit brighter.

Thanks again,
Reagan
