I saw a few threads buried in here about opening excel and when you clicked anywhere the mouse would just scroll wildly as if scroll lock was on.......someone posted the fix and I wanted to push it front and center so others could resolve this. I just did a fresh install of windows XP Pro and office 2003 Pro on my PC and when I tested excel it was behaving in this way. I was able to finally find the fix on here (this will definately work for Win 2000 and XP):
Go to device manager (right click my computer>manage>device manager) , uninstall the ps/2 mouse and reboot.....when windows comes back up, it will detect the new hardware and install it, then prompt you to reboot again, which I did. When it came back up again I was all set!
Thanks to whoever discovered this.....wonder how many people it is happening to???
