Excel not calculating

i have a template that i've used for longer than i care to
remember and now suddenly, if i enter new data, excel
doesn't calculate new values ** and YES automatic
calculation IS ON! ** excel will only calculate new values
if i click into the formula then press enter. Any ideas??
