In Office 2003 on a fully patched system, a user saves his document, closes
out of Excel, and then when another user tries to open the document, it will
open only in read-only because the system still thinks he has it open. If
you go into task manager, Excel still shows open and if you kill the process
then everything is fine. Does anyone know why the process is not closing out
properly and still holding onto files even though they are still closed?
BTW...this also happens in Access
