Excel not enough resources error

During the openning of an Excel spreadsheet the following
message pops-up. "Excel cannot complete this task with
available resources. Choose less data or close other
applications." Once I clik on the "OK" button on the
message I get the following message. "Unable to save
external link values."

Any suggestions?
