I purchased Excel 2004 STE today after un-installing the test version
pre-installed on my computer. This issue is Exel-specific, as it does
not occur on Word. Any time I try to open an Excel workbook, I am
promted with this message: 'Hard' not found. The file will not open. In
addition, any time I create a new file in Excel and save it under any
random name, it automatically saves as 'Hard'!! So, if there is a file
named 'Hard' in existance on my computer, and I try to open any other
Excel file, they open but ONLY AS THIS NEWLY-CREATED 'HARD' FILE!!! It
doesn't matter which Excel workbook it is! Once agin, this only
happened in Excel, as Word has no problems opening files at all. I
removed all semblences of Office products on my computer, booted from
Install disk, repaired Disk, ran disk permissions, re-installed Office
2004. This did not fix the problem. Please Help!!
