Excel opens 3 non-excel files when opening

When I open Excel or an existing Excel file, Excel opens
3 other files. One file is an html file, one is a text
file and the other is a registry file. None of them are
excel files. Any help would be great. Thanks. Matt

Tools>options...>General and clear the alternate start-up folder entry
