Excel opens twice opening a file.

I have a field person, who opens AN Excel spreadsheet, and Excel opens twice,
and the file is opened in both instances. We have a copy of the file that he
sent us, an it opens okay here. Anyone know if it could be some wierd
setting or possibly a corrupt Office/Excel? Office 2003 is the version.
Thanks.

maybe he is clicking on the file name twice and the mouse may be set to
single click to open file
or
there is a hidden sheet requiring a link between the two files
how about changing the name and try to load it with a new name

thanks for a response. There are 2 excel files that this is happening to.
We have had the files emailed to us, and it doesn't do it on our pc's. The
client is bringing in his laptop for us to check it out. We doubted user
error, when it only happens to these two files. And the second reason, a
hidden link issue, when it worked for us. It is weird. Thanks again.
