EXCEL OPENS WORKBOOK DOESN'T?

When clicking on a shortcut or file excel opens but the target workbook does
not. To open the workbook you must click open file from inside excel and
click on it in the open window. How do I return it to normal operation? I've
already tried detect and repair with no luck.

I have the same problem. The window opens but there is
no spreadsheet in it. Please let me know if you find the
solution.

Choose Tools/Options/General from the Excel menu and make sure the
"ignore other applications" checkbox is not checked.
