"Question on Excel Organizational Charts" <Question on Excel Organizational

I developed a organizational chart in office XP and send to different
people
to add information. People with a version of excel lower than XP could
not
access the org chart. Is there something I can do to make available to XP
and lower users.
I don't have Excel 2000 loaded here to check -- and I haven't ever added an
Org Chart to Excel anyway -- but I suspect it's the same issue as with PPT
2000 vs PPT 2002 (XP). Basically, the old-style Org Chart that was used in
Office 2000 was replaced in Office XP. Since people using Office 2000
products don't have the new diagramming applet that was introduced in Office
XP, they won't be able to edit those diagrams. They can see them, sure, but
they won't be able to add information to them.
About the only thing I can think for a workaround is to create the org
chart, then select it and Ctrl+X to cut it. Then Edit|Paste Special and
choose EMF (enhanced metafile). Select the EMF and Draw|Ungroup twice. This
gives you individual autoshapes in your Excel file, which won't work like an
actual Org Chart diagram. So it's really not a good workaround.
If they can't be upgraded to a newer version of Office/Excel, then you may
just have to have them send you the info and you put it into the diagram.
