Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor:
Intel When creating charts in Powerpoint, it can take HOURS to input
data because excel seems to freeze - this is the same on five different
macs which I have tried, and all with different keyboards etc - I am
therefore sure it is a software and not a hardware problem, and it
predates SnowLeopard. I see there was a thread on this but the problem
wasn't resolved - any ideas on how we get a solution
Hi Katherine,
You've given a nice, general description of the problem. But in order to
offer assistance we'll need greater detail. You have OSX 10.6, but
10.6.what? You have Office, but what version? What is the latest Office
update that's installed?
Have you tried any general troubleshooting steps? Which ones (such as
running DiskWarrior, repairing permissions, etc.)?
Lastly, you may have started the chart in Excel and got it into
PowerPoint somehow, or vice-versa. A step-by-step description of what
you're doing would be helpful. Also, since your problem might be
insufficient RAM, information about how much RAM your computer has and
perhaps how much RAM Activity Monitor application indicates is free
would be helpful, too.
