Excel printing after moving to iMac G5

This is really strange and only seems to be happening on one of 12 new
iMac G5 recently purchased. Stranger is that things seemed to work
fine the first couple of days.

Old machine was a G3 iMac using Office 2001 and system 9.2.2. New
machine is a G5 iMac with 512MB of RAM running 10.3.7 and Office v.X
with upgrade 10.1.6

You can create a new worksheet and it prints fine. However, some
worksheets created in 2001 will open fine but will not print. Others
open and print with no problem (The same thing occurs with some Word
documents). We have trashed and reinstalled and trashed again. The
same spreadsheet can be sent to another computer and it will print
fine. We tried saving to other formats and the only way it would
print on that machine was if the spreadsheet is stripped of all
formatting.

We've searched for preferences (much more difficult to find in 10 vs 9)
and thrown away the Excel (10) preferences but that doesn't seem to do
anything. We deleted all the printers and re-installed them. We fixed
permissions (nothing to fix). I haven't tried running Office 2001 in
10 - will that even work or does it run in Classic mode?

Not that anyone would know but what can anyone shed any light on what
could have possibly happened that would let it work for a couple of
days and then not at all? And why do some print and others not?
Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to add another piece of info which is strange - haven't
fully checked this out but.....have installed Adobe Acrobat Prof 6.0
and tried to save this particular workbook as a PDF to see if it would
print from there. It appears to save fine but when you close Excel the
PDF file disappears. Or, if Excel is open and click on the PDF icon,
it disappears.

More info - this doesn't seem to be an Office specific problem. So it
appears as though I have posted to the wrong place. : ( We have since
discovered that this also occurs on some AppleWorks documents too on a
different G5 iMac machine. Corrupt font perhaps???

It appears as thought the Bookman font was corrupted. Replacing that
seemed to solve the printing problem but there are other issues that
need to be posted elsewhere. Thanks.
