excel problem

Every so often, excel seems to hang up where the only thing I can get a
response is when moving my mouse. When I mouse my mouse, it highlights a
range as if I were dragging an area to highlight.

However, I cannot get it to drop the area, no escape, no nothing. I have no
keyboard controls. I can start other programs, but the excel is still hung.

I am in the middle of a couple of worksheets that I don't want to lose the
data, so I don't want to end excel without saving.

Any ideas?

Best idea is to post to the Excel newsgroup, since this is the FP newsgroup.
