Excel problems

Pyxis

I downloaded SP3. I did not have the disc I needed to complete the
instillation, as my computer was pre-loaded with Office XP Professional.
After unsucessfully attempting the instillation, whenever I try to open
Excel, it prompts me to insert the Office disc, which I do not have. I have
some critical documents I need to open.
Any suggestions on how to open Excel at this point?
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you have the disk?

Thanks for the intrest. I bought my computer (Sony) as an open box buy at
Circuit City. I did not get all of the software that was loaded on the
computer.
Thanks

You will need the Office XP CD to fix the problem. Try contacting the
computer manufacturer to see if they will provide you with the CD. If
they won't, then you might be able to purchase a replacement CD from
Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246 .

That wasn't the anwser I had hoped for, but thank you very much for the
information. I'll try to contact someone at Circuit City. Otherwise, I guess
I'll have to bite the bullet and purchase a new copy.
