Excel program disappeared

Excel disappeared once before, and repairing Office 2003 (Basic) with the CD
fixed the problem, but it has disappeared again, and repair won't work. I
can't even uninstall and re-install. The following message when trying to
install appears: Error 2329: c:config.msi\24fff936.rfb Can anyone help?
