Excel Query - Assignment Created Date

I have a project manager who says a task was published on Feb 23rd, yet I
cannot find any evidence of the task in any of my periodic reports until
March 4th. Therefore, I used Excel to query the Reporting Data base to show
when the task was created using the AssignmentCreatedDate and TaskCreatedDate
fields. These fields show the assignment/task was created on March 3rd, which
sync’s with my reporting that shows the task for the first time on March 4th.
Without boring you with the specific reasons why I now need to confirm this
but, I would like to know if the AssignmentCreatedDate and TaskCreatedDate
fields are the date the task was first saved in the schedule or first
published to the server when using data from the Reporting Data Base? Could
the PM have saved the task in the schedule in February and failed to publish
it until March based on this data or was the task not created until March 3rd?

Darrell,

I can't recall off the top of my head, but this one is really easy to check.
Create a new task. Note the time. Save the project, wait a bit, publish the
project, wait a bit. Run your query. Compare the results with when you
created the task.

OK...

According to my test a task that is created and "saved" to the project file
on the server does not show up in a query of the reporting data base until it
is "published". However, when the task is published the AssignmentCreatedDate
is the date the task was first "saved" in the schedule and not the date it
was published.
