Excel quirk?

In Excel 2002, typing the letter "a" by default
capitalizes within the middle of the sentence. How do I
correct this without having it being effected if used at
the beginning of a sentence?

You probably have an autocorrect entry. Check Tools | AutoCorrect
Options...

Also, I didn't know XL had the built-in capability of upcasing the
first letter of a sentence. ;-)

Tushar,

What does
<Tools> <AutoCorrect> <CapitalizeFirstLetterOf Sentance>
do ?

It's there, but doesn't seem to do anything on my XL2k.

Oh, yeah. Now, I remember. XL apparently believes a sentence is
something that follows a period (dot), not necessarily text that starts
a cell entry (*). So, if you type "hello, there. this is me" XL will
upcase the t in this.

(*) I imagine one could argue either way about the propriety of
upcasing the first letter of text in a cell.
