Without more information it's hard to say... the size of the files, the
nature of their content, the system resources available, whether you're
using Spaces, etc. all have an impact on something like this -- not to
mention the specific version & update levels of your version of Office & OS
X. Keep in mind though that the program doesn't open the files. That's a
service of the OS.

Intel When I highlight several (say 10-15) Excel files in a folder and try
to open them with a single open command, a few will load and then Excel
quits (and automatically relaunches). Is this a bug in Excel? Or am I doing
something wrong?
