Excel Registry Key in MS Office Reports

Every time I try to import an Excel spreadsheet into QuickBooks, Excel
freezes. Ctrl+Alt+Delete tells me Excel is not responding.
I THINK it may be a missing registry key for excel in MS office reports. How
can I go about replacing the registry key? If you have an alternative
explanation for Excel freezing, please let me know.
